Investments in renewable energy production equipment in an industrial enterprise METALISTAS LT UAB

METALISTAS LT, a successfully operating Lithuanian metal processing company, continues the expansion of the solar power plant park after completing an energy consumption audit, therefore implementing a project during which a 300 kW solar power plant will be installed on the roof of the building at Šermukšnių str. 19, Panevėžys. The “Investments in RES production equipment in the industrial company METALISTAS LT UAB” project is being implemented in accordance with the 2021-2027 European Union funds investment program in order to exploit the potential of a climate-neutral economy in the industry.

The goal of the project is to reduce the intensity of energy consumption in the company, increasing RES production and consumption efficiency.

The project is financed from the funds of the European Regional Development Fund.

Also, the solar power plant will contribute to mitigating Lithuania’s impact on climate change, solving air pollution, efficient resource use problems, reducing dependence on energy imports and increasing the ratio of renewable energy resources in the overall energy consumption balance. Solar power plant – a production installation using RES that does not emit any gases causing the greenhouse effect, does not have a negative direct or indirect impact during the entire life cycle on adaptation to the climate change goal, does not have any negative impact on people, nature or property, is not related to the needs of individual groups of society satisfaction, no restrictions on equal opportunities will be provided.

Solar energy is one of the cleanest existing technologies for producing electricity, which, with the financing of the European Union’s structural funds, is finally becoming competitive with other sources of electricity generation.

The solar power plant is ergonomic, because during its installation there is no need to fundamentally change the electrical engineering solutions operating in the company, the equipment does not need additional land area, since the company plans to use the unused roof area for it, therefore installing a solar power plant is a rational, economically efficient solution for today.

Thus, the successful implementation of the project will help the company to become competitive with other companies, due to energy saving to make production activities more efficient, and to move towards a climate-neutral economy.
